Gino Odjick

Gino Odjick was born on September 7, 1970 in Maniwaki, Quebec. The big 6'3" and 215 pound left winger played his junior hockey with the Laval Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks as their 5th choice, 86th overall in the 1990 entry draft. He saw his first NHL action in 1990 with the Canucks and established himself as an NHL enforcer, racking up 296 penalty minutes in just 45 games. Throughout the 1990s, Gino was a regular on left wing for the Canucks, taking on all challengers.

In March of 1998, Odjick was traded from Vancouver Canucks to the New York Islanders for Jason Strudwick. After three average seasons on Long Island, Gino Odjick was on the move again, traded to the Philadelphia Flyers in 2000 for Mikael Andersson and a 5th round draft pick from that year. After a handful of games in Philly, they sent him to the Montreal Canadiens for P.J. Stock and a 3rd round pick in the 2001 draft. Gino only managed to play 49 games for the Montreal Canadiens and even saw a stint with the Quebec Citadelles of the American Hockey League (AHL). Gino Odjick retired from the game in 2002 after playing 605 career NHL games and accumulating 2567 penalty minutes.
